No matter how sure something seems, there’s never truly a sure thing. That’s a lesson that Ubisoft learned when it launched Ghost Recon Breakpoint in 2019. Despite being a sequel to a massively successful title, alongside Ubisoft’s proven track record, the game’s performance was apparently so bad it caused several delays of other titles as well as a general reshuffling of how the company tackled its projects. But to the publisher’s credit, they didn’t abandon it, and there’s more to come.
As we come up on the game’s second year on the market, Ubisoft has done a very good job of updating the title. From next gen version patches as well as bringing back teammate AI, they’ve done what they could to salvage the title. The official Twitter also announced last month that support will continue throughout 2021. No details are given for what to expect specifically, but seems they are dedicating at least another year to the project.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia with enhancement patches for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S available via backwards compatibility.
