The one criticism that can never be levelled at Ubisoft games is a lack of content. Almost every single one of their titles has large open worlds to explore, full of countless activities that can collectively deliver dozens – if not hundreds – of hours of gameplay. The upcoming Ghost Recon Breakpoint is yet another upcoming open world Ubisoft title, and you can expect it to be just as feature-complete as all the others.
Speaking in an interview with Gamecrate, Breakpoint’s creative director Eric Couzian got to talking about the content that will be on offer in the shooter. As expected, players can look forward to “many, many missions besides the main campaign”. According to Couzian, all said and done, there’s “hundreds of hours of game” to Breakpoint.
“There are many storylines in the game,” said Couzian. “You have the main story with Cole D. Walker, the main enemy played by Jon Bernthal. But you will also have many other side activities where you’re able to meet many characters in the world. There are also factions which provide you with missions where you have to deal with distractions and even the reputation you have with them and the relationships change.
“There are many, many missions besides the main campaign. There are Behemoth arenas with the drones that you can fight where you’ll get valuable rewards. You have mysteries also, hundreds of mysteries to be discovered, you have convoys that you can attack and steal the resources from. There are plenty of things, hundreds of hours of game.”
Of course, the game will be receiving even more content after it has come out, with Ubisoft having recently laid out the roadmap for their year one post-launch support plans for Breakpoint. The game itself is out on October 4 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
