Ubisoft is continuing its strong support for Ghost Recon: Wildlands, the open world third person shooter where players hunt down drug cartel members. We’ve seen numerous free updates in 2017 and a second year of content – including new maps for the PvP mode Ghost War – is also confirmed.
However, everyone has been wondering the same thing for a while now. Given the scope of the world in Ghost Recon: Wildlands, why not add a Battle Royale mode a la PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite: Battle Royale? Ubisoft has been aware of fan requests for a while now and understand the allure of such an option for Ghost War. Sadly, it just won’t be happening.
As per the official Ghost Recon Twitter, changes would have to be made to the game’s overall structure to facilitate Battle Royale along with other technical challenges. The developer further added that these were “simply impossible to undertake right now”.
It’s understandable but fans won’t be without content for the rest of the year. Head here for more information about Ghost Recon: Wildlands Year Two and what you can expect.
