Ubisoft is hopping aboard the loot box train and adding the RNG packages to Ghost Recon: Wildlands less than a year after launch. Referred to as Battle Crates, they will contain random cosmetics and arrive in-game by January end.
Battle Crates, as you’d expect, come in different varieties – Spec Ops and Ghost War. The former is focused on single-player and co-op cosmetics while the latter features items that can be used in the PvP mode. Each Crate costs 400 Credits and there won’t be any duplicates. One of each Crate will be provided to players once the update goes live. Naturally, you can buy more with real money.
As for the kinds of cosmetics you can expect, they’re namely Epic and Exotic varieties of weapons and vehicles. Ghost War Crates also have skins called Icons and you can expect the Exotic weapons to be simple reskins. All in all, everything is cosmetic and doesn’t affect player progression or gameplay. With over 200 items across Rare, Epic and Legendary tiers, there’s quite a lot to earn.
