Following a new trailer that debuted during State of Play, Tango Gameworks’ Ghostwire: Tokyo has received 18 minutes of new gameplay via IGN. It sees Akito venturing through Tokyo, which has already become infested with different Visitors, and taking on side quests to help wayward spirits. Check it out below.
The gameplay also provides a better look at the combat. Along with bows and talismans, Akito is capable of Ethereal Weaving courtesy of the spirit detective KK that resides within. This means harnessing different elements like fire, water and wind to defeat enemies. While some of The Visitors can go down fairly easily, there are those like Kuchisake-onna that can take a fair bit of punishment.
Blocking and deflecting her attacks while striking back is key. We also get a better look at one of the side quests, which involves confronting a kappa to help a boy’s spirit that’s been trapped. Along with sneaking about, players will need to use Spectral Vision to track the kappa through walls.
Ghostwire: Tokyo is out on March 25th for PS5 and PC. In the meantime, you can check out Ghostwire: Tokyo Prelude. It’s a free visual for PS4, PS5 and PC that takes place before the main game’s events.
