God of War devs looking to hire ex-Darksiders developers

"We have a lot of admiration for the talented team at Vigil."

Vigil Games, developers of the Darksiders series, were left unsold at THQ’s auction of IPs and franchises a few days earlier, and so, the studio is  going to have to shut down. But hope still remains for its employees and its legacy.

After Platinum Games showed interest in purchasing the Darksiders franchise earlier, Sony Santa Monica, the developers of the God of War series, have now declared that they’re happy to hire Vigil employees who may have sadly lost their jobs.

“To all @THQ employees and developers, WE ARE HIRING, please tweet back at us if you are interested,” SSM posted on its Twitter feed.

“We have a lot of admiration for the talented team at Vigil and Darksiders, great epic game, amazing people,” the dev said. “There are great people there and that’s what we want here, great people, great talent, we’re an industry family,” the development team said in another tweet.

Vigil Games’ Ben Cureton was quick to reply. “Let me know if you are looking for a Lead Designer with a heavy focus on combat and gameplay mechanics,” he said. “Thanks Sony!”

To which SSM replied, “Check your DM’s, be happy to help.”

Darksiders has often been compared with God of War, so seeing people from Vigil at Sony Santa Monica would actually be really good, as it’d be a perfect fit.
