SIE Santa Monica has hit a home run with the latest God of War on PlayStation 4. Not only is the sequel critically acclaimed but it’s debuted strongly on the UK game charts according to Gfk Chart-Track.
First week sales for the exclusive ranked 35 percent higher than God of War 3 on the PlayStation 3, making this the fastest selling title in the franchise’s history for the region. Such is the success of God of War that it’s even surpassed Shadow of the Colossus, Sony’s other best-selling PS4 title for the UK in 2018.
God of War was first revealed at E3 2016 and was confirmed as a sequel to God of War 3. It sees Kratos in Midgard, older and having a son named Atreus. After Kratos’ wife passes away, the duo undertake a journey to spread her ashes. They encounter various deities and forces along the way as Kratos ensures his son doesn’t walk the same path as him.
