God of War Ragnarok is 40 Hours Long with Side Quests, 20 Hours for the Main Story – Rumour

A new report claims that God of War Ragnarok's main story will be roughly as long as its predecessor, though its total runtime will add a significant chunk of content.

The anticipation surrounding God of War Ragnarok is massive, and it continues to mount as we get closer to the game’s launch in November. Sony and developer SIE Santa Monica Studio have been playing things pretty close to the chest and have clearly been very careful about what they reveal and don’t reveal- but one tidbit that falls in the latter category seems to have emerged nonetheless.

Journalist Tom Henderson has published a report on Insider-Gaming that claims that God of War Ragnarok is going to be roughly 40 hours long, of which about 20 hours will be needed to finish the main story. The main story features roughly three and a half hours of cutscenes in total, while the remaining 20 hours of gameplay encompasses  side content (of which about an hour is for additional cutscenes).

Of course, how much time you can spend playing the game will depend on each individual player and vary based on your play style, but as per the report, these are the estimated figures. If they’re accurate, that would mean God of War Ragnarok’s main story is roughly as long as that of its 2018 predecessor, while offering about twice as much side content.

Recently, it was reported that the sequel’s PS4 size is 90.6 GB, which is twice as much as the 2018 title’s size.

God of War Ragnarok is due out on November 9 for PS5 and PS4.
