God of War looks like it’s going to be the most beautiful PS4 game till date, with Sony Santa Monica once again pushing Sony’s software to its limits, and it seems the studio is going to take advantage of the PS4 Pro’s added powers as well. The upcoming game’s director, Cory Barlog, recently confirmed that its PS4 Pro version will feature a Performance Mode.
Barlog was asked on Twitter by a fan if he needed to upgrade to a PS4 Pro to be able to fully enjoy the game, and Barlog said that while an upgrade wasn’t necessary, the PS4 Pro version does have some significant enhancements. It will, of course, support 4K, but for those who’re not bothered about a higher resolution (or don’t have a TV that supports 4K”, the game will also include the option to not output at 4K, but at a higher frame rate instead.
Of course, that’s something that many gamers prefer. A smoother frame rate is always appreciated. That said, Barlog didn’t confirm what exactly the frame rate would be. It seems fair to assume that while it won’t be locked at 60 FPS, it’ll probably be around that with a few fluctuations when needed.
God of War launches for the PS4 on April 20- not long left now. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more updates on the game.
