Man, remember the old days, before the internet, when leaks on any kind of video games were flat out impossible, so that the rare times that it did happen, it was a treasured event? Now there are just so many ways games can leak- trademark filings, patent applications, newspaper leaks, insider info, retailer listings, Steam database, rating board applications, and so on. Now add the friggin Google Cache to the list of ways games can leak, because yes, that actually happened.
A cached copy of fighter-within.ubi.com leaked a lot of information about the Ubisoft developed Kinect exclusive fighting game prematurely. The game will be using the new Kinect’s ‘ultra precise 1:1 body tracking,’ to provide ‘a world of sweat, timing and training thanks to kick-ass motion recognition.’ The game features local and online mulitplayer support as well.
While my first instinct would be to dismiss the game, it would be well worth our while to remember that Ubisoft made one of the only worthwhile Kinect games- Child of Eden- so if anyone could pull this off, they could. We’ll see eventually.
