We must say we admire the timing on the latest trailer to drop for Gothic 1 Remake, considering that it’s literally days away from its release at this point. Its contents are equally commendable, giving us a solid look into what caused the situation you’ll find yourself navigating in this remake of one of gaming’s classics.
Of course, the story it aims to set off is only a part of what makes the remake a very attractive offering. There’s a new and improved combat system to look forward to, while the game’s visuals have received a massive makeover to help it blend better with the crop of current-gen offerings. There’s a lot to like in what we’ve already seen of this one, and the mages that raised the barrier this intro speaks of are going to be the least of your problems once you start interacting with the different Camps in the prison colony.
All in all, the new cinematic intro is only one part of a marketing campaign that has us counting the hours until we get to dive in. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait too long, as Gothic 1 Remake is out on June 5th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
