Gran Turismo 5 Will Have Track Editor

So, ModNation Racers isn’t good enough for you? Kart racers just aren’t your cup of tea? Well don’t worry, creative gamers who don’t like the quirkiness of kart racing, Sony has you covered. According to a Sony exec, the perpetually delayed and still in development after five years Gran Turismo 5 will feature a full fledged track editor.

Says SCE Worldwide President Shuhei Yoshida: “Gran Turismo 5will offer gamers an experience more rich, more in-depth and more exciting than they might expect … it will also feature new game-enhancing graphical effects such as damage, night racing and weather.

“These innovations are twinned with the option to join millions of like-minded individuals globally within the Gran Turismo community and to find a driving experience to suit, whether that is taking on the Top Gear test track, chucking cars around stunt arenas, go-karting, creating and sharing your own track or intense head-to-head races.”

So there you have it folks. If it’s a track editor in a racing sim that you want, it’s what you’ll be getting now.

GT5 hits stores in North america this November. However, going by precedence, I’ll take the wise route and actually believe the game’s released when I see it in stores.
