Months, even years, of anticipation have led to this moment as Polyphony Digital’s Gran Turismo 7 finally releases tomorrow for PS4 and PS5. Series producer Kazunori Yamauchi has spoken a lot about the game’s focus on car culture and appreciation. It only makes sense then that the opening movie should showcase the history of the automobile. Check it out below.
Spanning over 150 years of history, the video features likes of Carl Benz, who created the first car proposals, to the brand new Porsche Taycan (which happens to be the manufacturer’s first electronic vehicle). Fans can expect more of this in the actual game with GT Cafe allowing one to fill out collection menus and listen to actual car makers. The Museum also provides a lot of historical information on each brand.
For those who like to race, there’s over 400 cars and more than 90 tracks across the world along with tons of customization options. You can check out official review here for more details. Meanwhile, Polyphony Digital isn’t stopping with the game’s launch. It will add more cars, courses, and Mission Races along with new features in future updates. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
