While FromSoftware’s Elden Ring unsurprisingly grabbed the top position in the UK physical sales charts last week, it seems Polyphony Digital’s Gran Turismo 7 has come racing in to overtake the action RPG in the newest charts for the weekending March 5.
As per GamesIndustry, the racing game sold 28% lower than its predecessor GT Sport at launch, but is still the fourth biggest physical launch of the year, trailing behind Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Horizon Forbidden West and Elden Ring. 76% of Gran Turismo 7’s sales are from the PS5 version of the game, with the remainder coming from the PS4 version. As always, these charts don’t include digital sales.
Elden Ring, on the other hand, fell to the second position with a 69% drop in sales week-on-week. Meanwhile, Pokémon Legends: Arceus is holding the third position, enjoying a sales rise of 16% week-on-week, along with Horizon Forbidden West holding the fourth position, which saw a dip of 47% week-on-week.
Another new release, Square Enix’s Nintendo Switch exclusive strategy RPG Triangle Strategy, comes in at the seventh position, selling almost exactly as much as Bravely Default 2 did at launch last year- though it could not surpass Octopath Traveler in terms of launch boxed sales.
