Grand Theft Auto 6 Spotted In Former Rockstar Employee’s Resume

Work on the next GTA title seems to be underway.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has been a huge success for Rockstar, to no one’s surprise, but Grand Theft Auto still remains the developer’s primary franchise, and main money-maker. With GTA 5 having shipped 100 million units worldwide since its launch, it wouldn’t have taken a genius to figure out that a sequel was inevitable (it would have been inevitable either way), but now we have confirmation (of sorts) that Grand Theft Auto 6 is indeed in development at Rockstar.

Users over on the GTA Forums have managed to spot mention of GTA 6 on the ArtStation resume of one Bibin Michael, a 3D game artist who is currently at Codemasters, but was until April of 2018 at Rockstar India in Bangalore. According to Michael’s profile, for about a year at the studio, he created concept vehicles for DLC for GTA 5, as well as the “upcoming GTA 6“. Michael, incidentally, also contributed toward the development of Red Dead Redemption 2, with his name being mentioned in the game’s credits.

Again, that there is a Grand Theft Auto 6 under development is no surprise to anyone at all, but it’s good to have semi-concrete word on it from people who’ve been working on it, or have worked on it. Either way, it’s probably going to be a while before we hear anything official about it, so don’t hold your breath.
