GreedFall Developer Spiders Confirms Shutdown in Heartfelt Message to Its Fans

The developer has been liquidated, and parent company Nacon will handle development of GreedFall: The Dying World's DLC.

If you found the news of GreedFall developer Spiders shutting down, which we talked about just yesterday, disheartening, we’re sorry about what’s coming. The studio has taken to X to confirm the same and say goodbye to its fans, telling them to reroute any queries or issues with its games back to Nacon, its parent company.

The post is a showcase of how the team behind titles like SteelRising and, of course, GreedFall, has always held us in high regard, and that we’re going to be missed as it ceases operations.

“We’re going to cut straight to the chase so you’re not left wondering: After a long period without clear answers, we have received confirmation that Spiders is being liquidated…We’re sorry that it’s come to this, and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years. ”

There’s more to the statement in the original post, but we’re going to focus on its reassurance that the DLC for GreedFall: The Dying World is coming, and that it’s going to be published by Nacon. Even a cursory look at all the comments will tell you that Spiders being forced to walk away is definitely something that the gaming community at large hasn’t taken very well.

The liquidation of Spiders comes in the wake of Nacon’s own financial troubles and its inability to find buyer for the studio. Nevertheless, we’re going to remain optimistic and believe that the talented minds behind some of our favorite experiences over the years will manage to land on their feet.
