Half-Life: Alyx Has About As Much Content As Half-Life 2, As Per Valve

The two are "comparable in terms of total amount of content."

Half-Life will be making its long-awaited return with Half-Life: Alyx not long from now, and though Valve are approaching the game a bit differently than its predecessors – what with it being a VR-exclusive title – they have been adamant from the get-go that this is still the next big Half-Life game we’ve all been waiting for for so long.

Not too long ago, the developers confirmed that Half-Life: Alyx would be about as long as Half-Life 2 was, and in a recent AMA session on Reddit, Valve re-iterated that, saying that the two shooters are going to be comparable in terms of how much content they have, based on the playtesting they’ve done for it.

“Playtesters have taken a similar amount of time to complete Half-Life: Alyx as they did to complete Half-Life 2,” said Valve. “The games are comparable in terms of total amount of content.”

Half-Life: Alyx is due out for PC some time in March, but doesn’t currently have a fixed release date, while Valve have also said that it might eventually make its way to PlayStation VR as well. Meanwhile, it’s also been confirmed that the game won’t have any multiplayer modes.

Up until the launch of Half-Life: Alyx, Valve are also giving away every single Half-Life game for free on Steam. Read more on that through here.
