Halo 4’s O’Connor: Microsoft dealing with the leaks, coordinating with law inforcement

Not a positive situation for 343 Industries.

Halo 4 got leaked recently, with images of the discs being visible, and unfortunately it has ended up on torrents too. The game is a month away from release, so this is quite a weird situation for 343–who have taken the mantle over the Halo franchise from Bungie.

However, 343 Industries’ Frank O’Connor has mentioned that such leaks are inevitable and Microsoft is doing all it can to curb the spoiler filled footage that has shown up on Youtube, and it will take some time to deal with the situation.

“There are people putting the whole thing on YouTube. Microsoft is addressing that a single case at a time, it just takes a little while to handle,” he told Polygon. “This is how surprised I am about this.”

Josh Holmes, creative director of Halo 4, was a bit more emotional in his response: “I’ve worked for over 3 years making Halo 4. Please avoid spoilers and leaks from thieves for 3 more weeks until the game is out. Thank you.”

Earlier a Microsoft spokesman told this to Examiner: “We have seen the reports of Halo 4 content being propped on the Web and are working closely with our security teams and law enforcement to address the situation.”

I would also advise people to avoid spoilers if they’re looking forward to the game as it only takes someone who doesn’t care to ruin the campaign for you.
