As we get closer to the launch of Halo 5: Guardians, we’re getting a couple of new pieces of information. We’ve already found out quite a bit about the multiplayer mode that will be offered up, as well as the size of the map. Now we’re getting a little bit more details about the new HUDs that are going to be available for different characters throughout the campaign. 343 had been trying to figure out how they were going to make it obvious that players were looking through the eyes of different characters in the game and the company eventually landed on changing up the HUDs.
343 shed some light on this particular change to the way the game is played on their official website. “Each character’s HUD has been painstakingly designed by our artists to reflect the visual language of that particular Spartan. So Locke’s HUD has aggressive lines that follow the curvature of his visor while Linda’s enhanced optics are represented in muted tones that reflect her armor palette.” By doing this, the company was able to keep enough similar between the characters that players don’t have to learn a ton of new ways to play.
Speaking of new ways to play as Spartans, there has been quite a bit of excitement since Halo Wars 2 was announced. People are always on the lookout for more information about the game, but 343 isn’t really ready to share that info for now. A later post on the official website was intended to let fans of the game series know that they won’t be bringing much in the way of info until sometime next year. At least, fans of Halo will be able to play Halo 5: Guardians on the Xbox One when it launches October 27.
