Halo 5: Guardians Features Strong Female Characters, Small Part of Original Engine Included

Developer director Frank O'Connor talks about the next chapter in 343 Industries' sci-fi shooter series.

We know that Halo 5: Guardians will be releasing for Xbox One in 2015 and that along with featuring a new character along with a returning Master Chief, there will be a new engine for the game.

Development director Frank O’Connor expanded on these details a bit more on NeoGAF. While revealing that the new character was no female, he did say there would be plenty of strong female characters present.

“There will be plenty of strong female characters in the game, but that is not a picture of one of them.”

He also talked about how the original engine made up a very small part of the current engine being used. “The things at the core are vital, but a tiny fraction of the overall engine footprint. It’s a new engine. Not an iteration or a rendering evolution. It’s a new engine.”

Rumours currently indicate that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be revealed at E3 2014 for Xbox One. What are your thoughts on all the Halo happenings? Let us know below.
