Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Changes Detailed Amidst Player Feedback

Executive producer Josh Holmes details various changes and improvements made to the experience.

The multiplayer beta for 343 Industries’ Halo 5: Guardians proved to be incredibly popular in the one month it was live with about 20 million matches having been played. Executive producer Josh Holmes detailed some of the changes that the team was making in light of feedback received.

Along with general tuning for Spartan abilities, the base movement speed has been increased along with faster strafing. Top sprint speed has also been reduced. Players will also have a chance to view a more traditional death cam. Matchmaking will also be improved and players will be given the ability to choose their own data centre while matchmaking (though this could impact speed and skill balance of the process). Did we mention you could disable sprinting in custom matches?

It’s a fairly long list of changes so head over to Halo Waypoint to check them out. Halo 5: Guardians is out later this year on Xbox One so stay tuned for more details.
