Halo 5 Guardians Overtime Update Brings Oddball, Private LAN Parties

Coming in November, the update will also add 4K support for the Xbox One X.

As if Halo Wars 2 and Halo: The Master Chief Collection didn’t get enough love, 343 Industries’ Halo 5: Guardians will also receive a new update in November. Along with 4K support for the upcoming Xbox One X, the Overtime update will see the return of Oddball with new medals and voice clips. You can also expect balance changes for all the weapons which can be viewed here.

Interestingly, players will also have the chance to host private LAN parties via Windows 10 PCs. The PC will serve as a dedicated server with a new Local Server app allowing players to manage the entire set-up. These custom LAN servers can then be used to create custom game modes on different maps with different rulesets.

While all systems, including consoles, need to be online in this set-up, all gameplay will be streamed via LAN. Halo 5: Guardians has seen quite the multiplayer support from 343 Industries so it’s good to see even more free updates coming down the wire. What are your thoughts on the November update?
