A slight bug has been discovered for those who pre-ordered Halo 5: Guardians on Xbox One before September 21st. If you’re not using the Instant On power mode for your console, you may have a “stub file” rather than the actual game.
343 Industries addressed this issue on Halo Waypoint and there’s a simple fix. Simply head into “My Games & Apps” and sorting your installed collection by size. If the Halo 5: Guardians file size is less than 40 GB, than it’s a stub file that needs to be deleted and the game reinstalled. This is only especially annoying considering the size of the download.
If you pre-ordered on or after September 21st, you won’t be facing any issues. You can simply install the updates and play Halo 5: Guardians when the game is available.
Halo 5: Guardians is out on October 27th for Xbox One and will be the biggest Halo campaign yet. Are you ready?
