Halo 5 Guardians is just a matter of weeks away from being released and while there is plenty of excitement surrounding this long awaited chapter in the long running series, there are also a number of questions. Josh Holmes recently took to Twitter in order to answer a number of those questions and it certainly sounds like most of those answers are good news for fans. Specifically, Holmes was asked how 343 Industries was going to keep content fresh long after the game launched.
He answered those questions by saying “we’ll have new maps, modes, hundreds of new REQs and more.” He added that there are going to be new weapons, armor and skins added to the game as it moves along, all in the name of keeping the game new and interesting for as long as possible. In regards to REQ, the developer was also asked whether there was cap to how much REQ a player could earn. He answered that even once people hit the level cap they will be able to continuing earning REQ by playing multiplayer. They will also be able to use those earned points for REQ packs.
Cloud computing has been a thing Microsoft has talked a lot about since E3 and Holmes was specifically asked whether or not Halo 5 Guardians would incorporate it in any way. I turns out that the developers have put this into the game as an aid when it comes to multiplayer maps for coop games. Finally, Holmes was taken to task about the lack of traditional BTB maps at launch. He answered that Warzone is an evolution of BTB. Fans of the old mode should take heart though, as Holmes added some form of BTB would be added after launch. Halo 5 Guardians will hit the Xbox One on October 27.
