Halo 5: Is Microsoft Preparing a Reveal At E3?

Microsoft registers domains for "Halo Spartan Assault" ahead of the convention.

Microsoft have registered certain domains for their ever popular Halo franchise. Could a Halo 5 announcement be on the cards?

Microsoft has recently registered domains at the end of May for something related to “Halo Spartan Assault”. The domain names in question which have been registered include are SpartanAssault.net, HaloSpartanAssault.com, Halo-SpartanAssault.net, HaloSpartanAssault.net and Halo-SpartanAssault.com, according to a recent search on WhoIs.

The domains themselves have been registered by DNStination Inc, which is a privacy service managed by MarkMonitor, of which Microsoft has been active with over the past few years. This is especially the case with Halo domains as Microsoft has registered future Halo domains such as Halo 7, Halo 8 and so on.

As for what Halo Spartan Assault could be, it’s tough to say. The reception to the unveiling of the Steven Spielberg-produced Halo The Television Series was less than enthusiastic at the Xbox Reveal wherein Microsoft showcased the Xbox One. Could Microsoft be prepping for the next stage in Halo games with this so-called Spartan Assault? Considering the claim that Microsoft’s E3 2013 presentation will be all about games, it’s likely this is game-related.

Or it could just be another red herring. Stay tuned for more details.
