Halo: Spartan Strike, developed by 343 Industries and Vanguard Games, is now available for Windows 8, Windows Phones and iOS. If you’ll recall, this is the twin-stick, top-down successor to Halo: Spartan Assault that was subsequently delayed following issues with The Master Chief Collection.
Spartan Strike will take place during the events of New Mombasa in Halo 2. As a Spartan IV unit, you’ll be fighting alongside the UNSC to repel the Covenant and Prometheans. Costing $5.99, there aren’t any micro-transactions on this release so don’t worry. Windows 8 players will be able to earn an exclusive emblem, avatar and nameplay by topping the leaderboard and earning achievements. These can then be used in Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
Note that there’s also a Halo: Spartan bundle available for $9.99 which includes Spartan Assault and Spartan Strike. It’s available for iPad, iPhone and Steam. Will you be picking up Spartan Strike at all? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
