Halo: The Master Chief Collection’s Latest Update Improves Halo 2’s PC Visuals

Halo 2's PC existence has been plagued by spotty visuals for years, but The Master Chief Collection's newest update fixes many of those issues at long last.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection‘s latest seasonal update brings a plethora of new content to the game, alongside a late-but-important fix to Halo 2, which finally sees some noticeable visual improvements. The original Halo 2 PC port was, of course, ridden with technical issues, some of which made their way into Halo 2: Anniversary in The Master Chief Collection as well. Many of these issues seem to have been rooted out.

It’s clear that Halo 2‘s lighting has seen a major improvement, giving the presentation a much vibrant look. Cutscenes also look much better, and it’s certainly great that the game did get a much-needed touch-up. You can check out a side-by-side comparison and analysis in a video uploaded Generalkidd, which is embedded below.

Season 8 update marks the end of seasonal content for The Master Chief Collection. Halo Infinite will be launching in less than two months, following which 343 Industries will exclusively focus on developing new and (hopefully) interesting content for the game’s quarterly seasons.
