Hellboy Writer in Talks For New Diablo Animated Series at Netflix – Report

BOOM! Studios' Andrew Cosby announced he was in "final talks" for the series.

Netflix has seen a measure of success with its animated series for Castlevania. Could Blizzard’s Diablo be its next hit video game animated adaptation? As of now, talks are at least happening, according to now-deleted tweet by BOOM! Studios co-founder Andrew Cosby.

Cosby, who also wrote the Hellboy reboot, said on Twitter (screencap below): “I guess I can confirm I am indeed in final talks to write and show-run the new Diablo animated series for Activision and Netflix. It’s very exciting and I hope to the High Heavens it all works out.”

Blizzard has noted that “multiple” projects are in the works for Diablo. While we assumed that an HD remaster of Diablo 2 and Diablo 4 were among those projects, it’s interesting to hear of an animated series as well. It only feeds further into the assumption that a true blue sequel for Diablo will be announced at BlizzCon 2018.

Of course, before we jump to conclusions, it’s important to note that Cosby was “in final talks” and that the deal has yet to be finalized, much less confirmed by Activision-Blizzard or Netflix. Perhaps an official confirmation will happen on November 2nd to 3rd when BlizzCon rolls around. Until then, stay tuned for more information.
