Even though Sony have not officially announced it yet, given how critically and commercially successful Horizon: Zero Dawn was, it’s something of give that a sequel is currently in the works and will be releasing in the foreseeable future. Multiple job listings over the past year have pointed to the same, and now we have another job listing that does the same.
The listing in question is for the position of Lead Creature Animator over on Guerrilla Games’ official website. In the job ads, there are mentions of “engaging creatures for our compelling gameplay” and “setting the bar as high as possible in terms of aesthetic and in-game requirements for the creature animation quality.” Guerrilla also mentions that it’s looking to “create real-time animalistic movement with a focus on quality and realism.”
Of course, the listing itself doesn’t explicitly mention Horizon: Zero Dawn or. sequel, but given the level of fidelity that was in display in the way the robotic dinosaurs of the first game were animated, it isn’t much of a stretch to assume that Guerrilla Games will be looking to up the ante with a sequel.
Before that, we do have more Horizon stuff coming up this year, with Horizon: Zero Dawn launching for PC this Summer.
