Hunt: Showdown Closed Alpha Coming in Winter

The shooter will start off with a small number of players before expanding its pool in subsequent phases.

Crytek’s Hunt: Showdown, which started as a co-op title and then branched off into a PvPvE title while still maintaining its fantasy horror roots, will see a closed alpha in the Winter. In fact, the closed alpha will play out over numerous testing phases with a small pool of players starting out and more being invited in each subsequent phase.

The developer notes that feedback will be taken into account en route to Hunt: Showdown’s release on Steam Early Access. Currently, there’s no release date for the Early Access release but you can more information soon. Those interested in the closed alpha can head to the official website and sign up. Players will be randomly selected via email.

Beginning originally under Crytek USA as Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age, the title underwent significant changes when Crytek USA was shuttered. The main Crytek office is now responsible for development and Hunt: Showdown was revealed in May 2017.
