Hyper Light Drifter on Switch Features Exclusive New Area, 1080p Resolution When Docked

Heart Machine is classifying the Switch release as the "definitive" version.

Anyone who’s played Heart Machine’s Hyper Light Drifter will know about its brilliant art-style and compelling gameplay (despite the somewhat tough combat). Nintendo Switch players will soon have a chance to experience the same when Hyper Light Drifter launches in Summer 2018 for the platform.

In a recent video by GameXplain, new information has been revealed and there’s a lot more to look forward to than we thought. Hyper Light Drifter on the Switch will be the “definitive version” and will run at 60 frames per second. It will also run at 1080p resolution when the console is docked. A new double sword will be included but how you get it is unknown. The developer noted that it would arrive after release.

Furthermore, a brand new area will be included, exclusive to the Switch version. There’s currently no price point for the Switch version but it should be roughly the same as other versions. Co-op player with a single Joy-Con is possible for two players but there are no motion controls.
