We already know that Sony intends to release developer Naughty Dog’s PS2 era trilogy of platformers Jak and Daxter, as well as the racing game spin off Jak X, for the PS4 via the PS2 Classics service; however, since the announcement earlier in the year, we’ve mostly been in the dark about when exactly it might happen.
Now, we may be getting closer to the release, however- the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has rated the first game in the franchise, which usually points to an impending release (games are usually only rated after they have gone gold, and publication and distribution is imminent).
Of course, we don’t actually have a release date or even release window yet- and while it is often considered to be the best one in the series, this still is a rating only for the first game, meaning fans of the follow up will have to wait a while regardless. Still, it’s good to know that the release may not be as far off as many might have resigned themselves to expecting.
