Famitsu has released a venerable treasure trove of sumptuous screenshots for the upcoming Suda 51-directed, Grasshopper Manufacture action adventure game Killer is Dead, scheduled to released this year for Xbox 360 and PS3.
In these screenshots, we get a closer look at Mondo Zappa, the executioner with a freaky arm (and no memory of the same), his assistant Mika Takekawa, the 25 year old sassy boss Viviane Squall, director of the executioners Brian Roses and the creepy villain of the piece, Victor.
We also get a look at the outrageous, cel-shaded and bombastic art style of Grasshopper Manufacturer (this week, at least). There’s plenty of sword play and cybernetic slashing, both embodying the iconography of No More Heroes and Killer 7. If Suda 51 was aiming to pay tribute to those titles, he’s certainly succeeded in spades.
Killer is Dead is expected to release this Summer, though there’s been no word on a Western release date.
