Killer is Dead: New Details for Grasshopper Manufacture’s Next

Assassins, assassins, assassins.

Famitsu has some new details on the Grasshopper Manufacture and Suda 51 action title Killer is Dead. You play as Mondo Zappa, a sort of executioner of killers who goes after individuals who have committed horrible crimes.

Zappa uses a katana but his left hand has been modified so it can support new weapons like guns and drills. What’s more, the arm absorbs blood from slain enemies to not only release a powerful strike called the Adrenaline Boost but to also become more powerful overall. Of course, Zappa has no idea how he got the arm.

Suda 51 mentioned before that we’d be seeing some hot girls, so meet Mika Takekawa, Mondo’s 20 year old assistant, and Viviane Squall, his 25 year old boss who loses her cool but only when people aren’t watching.

Brian Roses is the director of the executioners – at one time, the world’s best – and is equipped with a cybernetic body. Then there’s Victor who plays music to toy with people’s emotions when he’s not intent on ruling the world.

So far so good, but will it be a worthy tale of assassins like Killer 7 and No More Heroes when it releases this summer for PS3 and Xbox 360?
