Arguably the game that made Goichi “Suda51” Suda famous, Grasshopper Manufacturer’s Killer7 is now available on Steam. The PC version has been discounted by 10 percent for its launch week and currently retails for $17.99. From November 22nd onwards, it will cost the usual $19.99.
What’s in the package for those who’ve already experienced the game on PS2 or GameCube? According to publisher NIS America, the frame rate is now 60 frames per second (save for the reload animations, which are locked at 30 frames per second). You can reconfigure key bindings, and even split actions like “Walk”, “Fire” and “Accept”, which were originally mapped to a single button in the older release.
The drawn animation sequences have also been upgraded, fitting 16:9 aspect ratio monitors. Otherwise, if you’re new to Suda51’s games and want a trippy experience with a wheelchair-bound assassin capable of morphing into one of seven different personas, Killer7 might be for you.
