Kingdom Hearts 3 Director Intends To Add Another Playable Character

Players can also bring more than 2 companions into battle.

Square Enix released some new gameplay for Kingdom Hearts 3 at D23 this weekend, showcasing the new Toy Story world along with new visual styles for Sora, Donald and Goofy. Along with targeting a 2018 release date and looking into a Nintendo Switch version, director Tetsuya Nomura said he intends for there to be one more playable character.

Speaking to IGN, Nomura noted that, “There is an intention of adding a playable character aside from Sora. Unfortunately we’re not able to disclose who it is yet, but there will be [another playable character].” This isn’t a new phenomenon for the series but the mystery behind it is certainly intriguing to say the least.

Another neat twist is that players can bring more than two allies into battle which is a benefit that the more powerful consoles provide. What are your thoughts on Kingdom Hearts 3 after seeing the new gameplay? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more updates.
