E3 begins today, and Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts 3, which saw itself fall out of the Famitsu Most Wanted Top 10 List, which graphs those games that readers of the Japanese magazine are looking forward to the most, is now back in the Top 10, though only just- it’s at the #9 place.
The rest of the chart remains largely static- we have Final Fantasy 15 at #1, Persona 5 at #2, Final Fantasy 7 Remake at #3, the PS4 and 3DS versions of Dragon Quest 11 at #4 and #5, and Pokemon Sun/Moon jumping to the #6 spot. Yo-kai Watch 3 finds itself at #11.
On the whole, the 3DS and PS4 are dominating the charts- six of the ten games are PS4 games, while the other 4 are 3DS. Which honestly seems to be a pretty accurate microcosm of the Japanese gaming market as a whole at the moment.
Kingdom Hearts 3 itself is due out after March 2017 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game may get shown off at E3 this week, though nothing on that front is confirmed yet.
