The game's director Tetsuya Nomura expressed a concern that the game may be too large and there may not be enough space.

We’ve recently been able to learn quite a lot of new details about Kingdom Hearts 3 and we even got some gameplay footage. In a recent interview with Weekly Famitsu, the game’s director Tetsuya Nomura revealed some new details about the game, including about the reason for its delay, downloadable content, and more.

First of all, we learn that the game’s release was delayed not because they needed more time for development, but simply it was more favorable in some aspects to release the game a little later. There will be a bunch of different mini-games related to the different Disney movies. For example, there will be a cooking mini-game related to Ratatouille and a music mini-game in the world of Tangled.

When it comes to Frozen’s world, it is set in the same timeline as the movie and the famous ‘Let it go’ song will also be played. Anna and Elsa won’t be companions to in the main character’s party, but Marshmallow will aid the player by lending some of his power. We also learn that The Pirates of the Caribbean world is set during the events of the third film in the series.

Nomura expressed a concern that the volume of  “Stories Connected to III” summary movies may be too large and that they won’t have enough space. Hopefully, they will be able to sort this issue out before release. When it comes to plans for downloadable content, Nomura is more interested in expanding the gameplay rather than providing some in-game item.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is set to release for the PS4 and Xbox One on January 25, 2019 in Asia and Japan and on January 29 in North America and Europe.
