Kingdom Hearts 3: Tetsuya Nomura Talks About How Long They Can Keep Making Kingdom Hearts Games

There isn't an end in sight.

While we’re talking about the impending release of Kingdom Hearts 3, there are some people who are talking about when this series might finally find an end. NowGamer is one place talking about how far the series might go, considering there are more than just three games in the franchise. There are smaller games such as Kingdom Hearts 2.8 so there are actually a ton of different titles in the line.

In talking to the game’s director, Tetsuya Nomura the website flat out asked how long he felt the series could g0. The site pointed out that Disney isn’t exactly a company that is used to letting go of something if its having some success. Nomura responded that “The discussion of the end of Kingdom Hearts has never come up between me and Disney, so I don’t know what their intentions are. But while creating Kingdom Hearts, with each generation I think to myself “This should be something that can’t be accomplished by just Disney”. It has to be something uniquely Kingdom Hearts. So it’s a matter of how long can I keep creating for Kingdom Hearts! I don’t know if the fans would enjoy it as much if it was just Disney, if it wasn’t a combination of Disney and my own creativity.”

It helps that Kingdom Hearts 3 is one of the most anticipated titles of the year so far, and it’s not hard to explain why Disney isn’t talking about an end date. For now we’ll have to wait a little while longer in order to see when the newest title is due to hit the market.
