Konami has now announced some new changes with the establishment of a new Production Division for game development, and also with new Executive appointments. These changes were made so as to respond to market changes and to also gain greater growth in the company’s digital entertainment business.
Director Sadaaki Kaneyoshi will take over the role of Chief Creative Officer and he will be in charge of supervising games for PC, consoles, and mobile and he will serve under Chief Operating Officer Hideki Hayakawa. The Director of Production Division 2 Shoji Dewa will be CCO in charge of supervising other kinds of games. Koji Kobayashi used to serve as General Manager of Production Department 4 within Production Division 1, but he will now be leading the newly established Production Division 3.
Kenji Nakamura will take over Kobayashi’s previous position as General Manager of Production Department 4 in Production Division 1. Furthermore, Tatsuhiko Yamamoto will take on the role of General Manager of Production Department 3 within Production Division 3. We’ll have to wait and see what effects this restructuring will have in the long-term.
