It’s been quite the day for rumors surrounding Japanese publisher Konami. Not only did we see once again a resurfacing of the rumor that Japanese developer is working on a Silent Hill remake/reboot, but Bloober Team, who recently finished up The Medium, seems to be dropping hints they could be working with the developer as well. But the day is not quite over just yet, as it seems there’s more alleged movement about some of the companies other classic IPs.
In something of a follow up to his recent Silent Hill report, Andy Robinson of VGC also said that Konami was also looking into outsourcing properties once more after the poor performance of Metal Gear Survive and Contra: Rogue Ops. He specifically states Metal Gear Solid and Castlevania as two specific cases. Robinson also goes on to say that whatever these outsourced projects will be, they probably won’t be seen for a good while, and are seemingly in very early stages.
As always with these rumors, take it with a grain of salt. It also sounds like that it will take quite some time before we see anything from this potential rumor as is. Either way, Konami has some truly legendary properties, so hopefully they find a new life soon.
