Konami’s reintroduction to the games industry as a developer and publisher of AAA games has been in the rumour mill for quite some time now. Leaks have claimed that a number of its major properties have new titles in the works, including multiple Silent Hill titles, a Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, and new Castlevania game.
Of course, the big question on everyone’s minds has been when exactly these games will be announced, and it seems at least some of them might finally get their time in the sun sometime later this year. As per a recent VGC report, while Konami does have new announcement planned for TGS 2022, it’s unlikely to be any of those aforementioned revivals.
Allegedly, those announcements are being saved for “more global-focused” events later in the year- perhaps a State of Play, or The Game Awards in December. As per the report, while there’s certainly a chance that Konami ends up teasing some of those games at TGS, their full reveals will arrive in events later in the year.
Interestingly, back in May 2021, Konami said that while it wasn’t quite ready to talk about them, it was “in deep development of number of key projects.”
As for what Konami’s big TGS 2022 reveal could be, a recent leak has claimed that the company is planning on announcing remasters of Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, and 3. Read more on that through here.
