Following the success of last year’s Lords of the Fallen, CI Games has officially announced that a sequel is in development. Scheduled for 2026, it’s coming to Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
While CI Games will publish the console versions, Epic Games has received exclusive distribution rights for “the entire product life cycle” on PC. It seemingly translates to permanent exclusivity on the Epic Games Store, but both parties are still negotiating a detailed publishing agreement.
CI Games has also confirmed in a statement that it will retain complete ownership over the IP, while Epic Games will be the exclusive distributor on PC. “Further details on this and publishing to be shared in the future,” the developer says.
Previously referred to as Project 3, Lords of the Fallen 2 will capitalize on “the recognition and success achieved by Lords of the Fallen.” It’s “built around more ambitious gameplay options for wider audience appeal” and benefits from “the substantial learnings, experience and knowledge” of its predecessor’s development.
Developed on Unreal Engine 5, it should be interesting to see if Epic Games’ involvement goes beyond publishing the PC version. Whether the sequel is related to Death of the Fallen, trademarked last January, remains to be seen. Stay tuned for updates in the meantime.
Lords of the Fallen launched on October 13th for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC and sold one million copies in its first ten days. Check out our review and details on its recent update, Clash of Champions.
