The Gamescom Opening Night Live reveal slate continues to fill up with CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski confirming Lords of the Fallen 2 for the show. It follows a tease from host and producer Geoff Keighley, who noted “Blood marks the beginning,” which could potentially indicate the sequel’s premise.
Announced last year following the 2023 reboot, Lords of the Fallen 2 is scheduled to launch in 2026 with Epic Games publishing the PC version (which pretty much guarantees exclusivity to its storefront). Nothing is known about the sequel, but CI Games marketing director Ryan Hill said it would “address all core player feedback” from its predecessor with a “quality over quantity approach.”
It’s also aiming for a greater appeal to a “wider addressable market” with “improved onboarding, a more inviting visual style, and westernized storytelling.” Walter Mair, who composed the soundtrack for 2023’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, is also on board.
We’ll find out more when Gamescom Opening Night Live airs on August 19th at 11 AM PDT. Thus far, confirmed titles include Resident Evil Requiem, Honor of Kings: World, Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion, Silent Hill f, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and the opening cinematic for World of Warcraft: Midnight.
