Recently at San Diego Comic-Con, a dedicated Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 panel brought with it an explosive new trailer for the highly anticipated new title, in addition to several new gameplay and story details. Now, a cut version of the panel and some of its highlights has also been uploaded to YouTube, revealing some more new tidbits about the game.
For instance, as confirmed by senior art director Jacinda Chew, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s expanded open world will bring not only more real estate for players to be able to swing about in, it will also include new real-world and Marvel landmarks for players to visit. A notable one in the latter category, interestingly enough, is Aunt May’s house in Queens.
“Not only does it increase the gameplay space, so there’s a lot more places for you to swing to, but it also has some really cool Marvel landmarks as well as New York landmarks,” Chew said during the panel. “For example, I know in Queens, everybody has wanted to visit Aunt May’s house, and perhaps see where Peter lives. I know a lot of fans had wanted to interact with that space, so to just be able to walk in and see where he lives is incredible.”
Insomniac also revealed new concept art showing what Aunt May’s house will look like in the game, which you can check out, along with the full panel video, below. Of course, how the game chooses to bring Aunt May’s house into the story should be interesting to see, given the events of the first title.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set to launch on October 20 for PS5.
