Yesterday, Sony unveiled Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the next chapter in Insomniac Games’ Spidey universe. Not long after the announcement though, comments made by Sony’s EVP head of European Business Simon Rutter gave the impression that instead of being new game, it was going to be an expansion on top of a remaster of the first game.
However, that, as it turns out, isn’t the case. Insomniac Games recently took to Twitter, where they made it abundantly clear that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales – which they call the “next adventure in the Marvel’s Spider-Man universe – is a standalone game.
Additionally, a report by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier gives more details on the same. The report states that the scope and size of the upcoming game with respect to the first game will be comparable to what Uncharted: The Lost Legacy was to Uncharted 4– a smaller game, but still a full-fledged, separate, standalone entry. Schreier’s report also states that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, much like The Lost Legacy, might launch at a price of $40.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be a launch title for the PS5 when the console launches this holiday.
