Marvel’s Wolverine Reportedly Has New Directors in Charge

Marcus Smith and Mike Daly – the duo that directed Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart – are now leading the upcoming Marvel's Wolverine.

Three years on from its announcement, there’s little that we know about Marvel’s Wolverine, and it seems that the project has also seen some significant leadership changes behind the scenes. As reported by Game File, the game has lost its creative director, Brian Horton, who has left Insomniac Games and is now the creative director on Perfect Dark at The Initiative.

Replacing Horton is a pair that Insomniac fans will be familiar with. Marcus Smith is now serving as creative director on Marvel’s Wolverine, while Mike Daly is the project’s new game director. Smith and Daly were also the director duo on Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. Smith previously also co-directed Sunset Overdrive.

Meanwhile, Cameron Christian, who was previously the game director on the project, is still at Insomniac, but now in a different role. It’s reported that an entirely new directorial duo was put in place due to “creative decisions around the game”, though there’s no update on the current status of the project.

Marvel’s Wolverine is in development for PS5. Leaks have claimed the game will release on 2026, but the game has no official launch window.
