Marvel’s Wolverine Trailer Planned for September State of Play – Rumor

Insomniac's next superhero title, based on the Marvel legend, will allegedly receive its first new trailer since 2001 later this month.

The recent deep dive for 007 First Light was solid, but those anticipating general State of Play won’t have to wait long. Rumors have circulated about a showcase from Sony by the end of September, which Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson corroborates while also alleging that Marvel’s Wolverine will appear.

Announced in 2001 and developed by Insomniac Games, it hasn’t made any official appearances since. Sources told Henderson that it would “almost certainly” appear and debut a new trailer, which recently finished production.

A ransomware attack on Insomniac in December 2023 revealed several assets and details for the title, reportedly the first in series of X-Men games from the developer. It was internally targeting a release in 2026, but plans may have changed in the interim. Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart’s directors, Marcus Smith and Mike Daly, now lead the project with Sony affirming its release post-March 2026.

Officially, Insomniac has stated, time and again, that it will reveal details when the time is right, so stay tuned.
