Media Create Sales: Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Debuts at Number 1

Beats out Square Enix's second coming of Final Fantasy XIV.

You’d think that Square Enix would have a stronger presence in Japan than this but if that were so, Namco Bandai’s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle wouldn’t have debuted at number 1 on the PlayStation 3 with 425,718 units sold, according to the latest Media Create Charts courtesy Gematsu.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn debuted on the PS3 with 184,018 units sold. Not a horrible number by any means but Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure has sold more than twice that number. GungHo Online Entertainment’s Ragnarok Odyssey Ace debuted on the Vita with 31,622 units sold while Capcom’s Lost Planet 3 debuted at fourth with 27,503 units sold on PS3.

It’s odd not seeing a 3DS title in the top 3, but it’d be ludicrous to not see one in the top five. That being said, Disney Magic Castle: My Happy Life stood at 17,061 units sold this week, with 244,570 lifetime sales. It still seems that a price drop hasn’t done much to bolster the PS Vita’s sales. Stay tuned for more details.
