Kojima Productions’ Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain has finally received Metal Gear Online for its PC version. The news was announced by Konami, which previously had the online component in beta last week. The beta was subsequently taken offline to patch an exploit that’s since been fixed.
Metal Gear Online will continue to receive updates in the coming months just as the base single-player game has been constantly updated and patched since its launch. Those who want a good reason to hop into the online component can net 3000 Gear Points if they play a single match from January 19th to 26th. You may not know what these are when you start playing but you’ll have 3000 of them.
What other updates could Metal Gear Online see in the coming months especially with regards to events, new maps, modes, etc.? We’ll have to wait and find out but in the meantime, let us know your thoughts on the online component finally being available for PC users.
